10/1/14 INTRAFOODS BELGIUM CONFERENCE (photo)
SensoryEffects, a division of Balchem Corporation, presented a technical seminar at the Intrafoods Conference in Belgium to introduce SensoryEffects Inclusions and Encapsulates to the European market. This conference was attended by a wide variety of food and beverage manufacturers active within the Benelux region. Balchem's seminar was focused on the value of using encapsulated ingredients and lipid inclusions to enhance the sensory characteristics and overall quality of processed foods. The goal of the presentation was to communicate the value and benefits yielded by using an encapsulated ingredient in a variety of food applications where unprotected ingredients can lead to an inferior product quality.

The presentation was well-attended and European developers were very interested to see innovative product ideas and applications from the US that use encapsulated ingredients or lipid inclusions. While many attendees were familiar with encapsulated ingredients, most had never seen a product similar to the inclusions in the European food industry. There was considerable interest in learning more about how to use the inclusions for delivering intense flavor and aroma in baked products or other foods. This conference afforded Balchem/SensoryEffects the opportunity to introduce the concept of flavored inclusions to the European food industry as the commercial team prepares to launch these products into new markets.
